šŸ“šIn partnership with the Tigris Foundation, @cosmicwriters has selected 10 new libraries to include in their national cohort of the Small & Rural Library Support Project—building a strong network of librarians committed to empowering young writers. Here are a few:

āļøSoutheast Arkansas Regional Library, Monticello Branch (Monticello, AR)

ā€œWe are a small rural supportive community that struggles to reach these young people through inspiration and literacy to show them the possibilities beyond the borders of our county and state. This program will show those of us who can encourage this demographic the how, and give training that will aid in our success.ā€

āļøJefferson County Public Libraries, Golden Library (Golden, CO)

ā€œHearing about Cosmic Writers’ program and the connection to ā€œhorrorā€ writing, we feel this creative writing program might just be the key to not only bringing our community’s youth into the library but also connecting them with a newfound interest and, dare we say love, of writing.ā€

LAND & LABOR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: The Tigris Foundation is dedicated to fostering community. We acknowledge that our offices sit on the unceded land of the Lenape people and recognize that this land was worked on by enslaved Africans. To the Lenape people, past, present, and future generations, as well as to the experience of enslaved Africans and their descendants, may this living land acknowledgement serve as a starting point for change.
