It has been a season of incredible growth, community connection, and youth-led success across our partner projects. This summer, Alain Locke School scholars built a sustainable food system, distributing 24,851 pounds of produce to their neighbors and serving weekly hot meals at Locke’s Family Table.

Our 2SLGBTQIA+ programs also saw vibrant growth, with 30+ Drag Queen Story Time events reaching thousands and a record-breaking Pride Fest at Abington Library drawing over 650 people. Meanwhile, we celebrated literacy wins as the Joyful Readers Home Library pilot successfully delivered nearly 2,000 books to Philadelphia students.

LAND & LABOR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: The Tigris Foundation is dedicated to fostering community. We acknowledge that our offices sit on the unceded land of the Lenape people and recognize that this land was worked on by enslaved Africans. To the Lenape people, past, present, and future generations, as well as to the experience of enslaved Africans and their descendants, may this living land acknowledgement serve as a starting point for change.
